As a Medical Records Specialist at Disability Action Advocates, Erin Wilder plays a crucial role working on behalf of clients to request medical records from providers, and review and submit them to the Social Security Administration. She’s also responsible for getting authorizations for release-of-information forms to medical facilities, investigating incomplete records and medical history, and identifying records for inclusion at client hearings.
Erin’s favorite part of the position is the detective work. Each case is a puzzle and she enjoys putting together the pieces that form the overall story. Knowing that every scrap of information she gains will help a client win their case is what keeps her motivated.
Erin has first-hand experience navigating the complexities of medical systems. After a major accident, she spent years recovering, which included many doctor appointments, surgeries and a lot of physical therapy. She emphasizes with clients and aims to serve them well through these difficult periods.
Outside of work, Erin loves baking, taking spontaneous road trips and she’s a die-hard fan of the San Francisco Giants and Dallas Cowboys.
