Todd Watson is the co-owner and operator at Disability Action Advocates, alongside his wife, Jessica Watson. Todd joined Disability Action Advocates eleven years ago and has been running the operations at the office for the past seven years. He has gone to school for Business and Paralegal Studies and is continuously working to help the team stay at the forefront of disability law and procedures. He is committed to making sure that the office helps clients strictly adhere to the Social Security Administration’s newest guidelines and rules, ensuring that clients’ cases are not needlessly held up by administrative “red tape.”
Todd believes that one of the most troubling aspects of disability claims is the time they take and the burden they place on individuals and families going through the process. To make sure every claim has the best possible chance of moving quickly through the process, Todd uses the most recent technology when helping clients file claims and/or appeals, submit evidence, and check the status of their claims. This technology has helped him—and the office—gain a significant advantage in processing disability claims, as it allows clients’ claims to move at a faster pace. It also provides electronic receipts for a solid paper trail—something that anyone who has dealt with the Social Security Administration knows is incredibly important. These small adjustments have made a big difference in the overall process and outcome of the office’s clients’ claims.
One of Todd’s missions in managing the operations of Disability Action Advocates is to maintain an advantageous relationship with the Social Security Administration. This makes it easier to work with them and achieve successful results for the office’s clients. Processing the overwhelming amount of disability claims filed every year is a huge undertaking, so working with—not against—the Social Security Administration and their workers is a huge benefit. To that end, the office works hard to keep and develop these professional relationships.
Todd is driven by the joy he feels when a case is approved, and he gets to see his client’s life (and their family members’ lives) change immediately. Todd strives to build real relationships with every client, hearing about all the struggles they are going through, learning about their medical history, and working directly with them to understand their unique needs, concerns, and goals. When he wins a case, Todd realizes there is a life attached to it, and that life is going to be better in so many ways.
When he is not working, Todd enjoys spending time with his family, as well as anything to do with cars, including attending car shows and auctions, working on cars, driving them, and even just looking at them. Classic cars have always been a passion in his life and something that Todd enjoys devoting his time to.
